About Us

B.P.O.E. stands for The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (or as they are affectionately known, the Best People On Earth). Elks are American Citizens who want to save its great values; who love others and want to make sure they are healthy and happy; and who love life and want to contribute to it, as well as to share it. As a member, we find there is nothing better than serving our community through the various activities and charities supported by our local Elks Lodge. 

Here, in Santa Monica, our Elks Lodge supports our community through a number of programs headed up by our members who are volunteers. Giving back to our community is what drives our members. We are a small lodge, but we do a lot in our community. We support our Veterans at the Los Angeles VA by providing meals quarterly, small appliances and other items to help veterans transition into their own home. We provide jackets, sleeping bags, toiletries for our unhoused veterans. We also provide donations of food to the West Side Food Bank, who support the food insecure individuals and families in our community.  We support several scouting troops by helping with gold awards and providing volunteer opportunities and scholarships.
